The Eagle 616 Lions Club and The Star Lions Club are excited to announce the return of Hackers & Slackers, a charity golf tournament, on September 22 at Eagle Hills Golf Course. All proceeds from the event are donated to local non-profit organizations.
The 4-person scramble will be held at Eagle Hills Golf Course with a 9:00 AM shotgun start. In addition to great prizes for the winning teams, the tournament will also feature the opportunity to win tickets to the Super Bowl and to The Masters. “The Hackers & Slackers golf tournament is an amazing event that benefits so many,” said Jeff Kempthorne, president of the Eagle 616 Lions Club. “It is a great opportunity for local businesses and groups to have fun and create lasting memories while supporting the community. The funds raised through sponsorships and group participants raise thousands of dollars for the Lions Club to donate back to the community for families in need, service projects, charities, and other local organizations.”
In 2021 the Hackers & Slackers tournament raised over $11,000 for local charities including groups that support Education, Diabetes Prevention and Treatment, Veterans, and Mental Health.
"This is the 8th year for Hackers & Slackers. The Star Lions Club and Eagle 616 Lions Club are part of Lions International, the largest volunteer service organization in the world. Our motto is "We Serve", and the funds raised at this event allow our clubs to continue making an impact in our communities," Kathy Donahue, Star Lions president, added. "Businesses interested in being a sponsor can contact any Lions club member or visit our website at www.charitygolftoday.com/hackersslackers for more information.
